04/04/2005

"Private cars will be "contained" in Beijing, rather than 'controlled' or 'limited'." Mr. Pei Chenghu, Vice Director of Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau explained that the purpose of this civic was for the sake of the air quality.

This means that the practice of having license auctioned will not be carried out here in the capital city.

The local transportation commission is making a plan for parking in the town. Parking charges will not give positive incentives to users of private cars.

Vehicles will be subject to Euro-III gas emission standard this year in Beijing. The Euro-IV standard will be imposed by 2008.
