China issued a list
of top 100 machinery companies based on their 2004 gross sales
income Thursday.
The top three are Shanghai Electricity Corporation
with 49.7 billion yuan (6 billion US dollars), Chunlan Corporation
with 16.8billion yuan (2.03 billion US dollars) and Xuzhou Engineering
Machinery Ltd with 13.6 billion yuan (1.64 billion US dollars)
of gross income from sales.
These 100 companies account for 0.28 percent of the
total machinery companies in China, but their sales income accounted
for20.25 percent of the total. Their profit accounted for 22.06
percent of that of the total industry.
Among these 100 companies, 31 are manufacturers of
electric appliances. The gross income from sales that they made
accounted for 37.5 percent of that of the 100 companies.
The list also included 14 office equipment producers,
whose gross income from sales accounted for 12.04 percent of that
of the100 companies.
Ten companies of producing transporting machinery
and 12 companies of engineering machinery were also been included
in the list, with gross income accounting for 10.71 percent and
8.76 percent of that of the 100 companies.
The list was compiled by the National Bureau of Statistics,
China Machinery Industry Federation and China Association of Automobile
Manufacturers.
