Preparations for the
second Sino-Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN Fair
have started.
According to its secretariat, the Sino-ASEAN Fair
to be held in November in Nanning, the capital of south China's
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, will have 3,000 booths.
There will be five exhibition areas for trade and
commerce, investment, tourism and human resources.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao proposed holding a Sino-ASEAN
Fair's every year from 2004, after he attended the 2003 Summit
of the ASEAN plus China in Bali, Indonesia, as a way of promoting
a free trade zone.
In his proposal, Wen Jiabao also named Nanning as
the permanent venue of the Sino-ASEAN Fair.
