About 1,000 Chinese
websites and media units have formed an alliance to adopt a new
technology, in a bid to improve the efficiency and accuracy of
advertising on line.
The technology supplier, the Beijing-based TIXA Internet, says
the websites are trying to target advertising to the audience
who is most interested in it.
The company says it will be economical for small
companies and individuals to put ads on line since one click costs
about 0.2 yuan, or 2 US cents.
As the most profitable business for websites,
online advertising has raised complaints among China's 94 million
Internet surfers.
