A senior official
says China's economy will maintain a nine percent growth rate
in 2005.
Cheng Siwei, Vice
chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress,
says with further macro-economic control, including improved investment
efficiency, China will avoid an overheated economy.
Officials with the National Statistics Bureau
say China's economy will grow strongly in 2005 thanks to moderate
improvement in the global economy and rising demand for exports
and consumption.
