| Chinese Ministry of Commerce says it has set up an anti-monopoly investigation office.
Director of the newly established office Shang Ming notes that the anti-monopoly office will be responsible for international exchanges of anti-monopoly, legislation of anti-monopoly law and investigations of relevant affairs.
In addition, Shang Ming says the establishment of this office aims to rectify the order of the market and keep monopoly acts in check in order to ensure consumers' interests and fair competition.
It is learnt that to curb monopoly is a new responsibility of China's Commercial Ministry.
At present, the legislation of anti-monopoly law has been put onto the agenda of the 10th National People's Congress, which is China's top law-making organ.
