China's automobiles sales continued to soar in the first half of this year, bolstered by a 24 percent increase in sales from the same period last year.

The automobile industry association says the production of made-in-China saloon cars reached 1.24 million in the first half of the year, and nearly 90 percent of them were sold within the period.
